Pet and Human Memorials
We believe that animals have a place in God's eternal Kingdom. Our sympathy extends to all who have lost an animal.
Blessed are they who
mourn, for they will be comforted.

MEMORIALS
In Loving Memory of Martha Sepede who passed on May 31, 2019
Martha Sepede, age 96, of Wayne passed Friday, May 31, 2019. She was
lovingly known as “Aunt Martha” to just about everyone.
Martha was born in the family apartment above her father’s tavern, the Dew
Drop Inn, in Garfield to Gennaro and Emma Sepede. During her youth Martha
lived in Paramus and later Hackensack where she graduated from Hackensack
High with the Class of 1941. She was an excellent student and was inducted
into the National Honor Society.
The day after graduating high school Martha started her job as an
administrative assistant at the Continental Paper Company, having also
worked through the years for the Butterfield Barry Company, and the
CompuScan Corporation before working for ShoeTown in Totowa retiring in
1999. For many years after her retirement she volunteered for the Friends of
Wayne Animals. For a several month period when the shelter had about one
hundred kittens Aunt Martha was there every day scooping, cleaning, and
especially liked holding and socializing any scared kittens.
Aunt Martha will be remembered as a dedicated, caring person that was
generous to a fault. For most of her life she had a mind like a steel trap.
She could recall what happened in her life years ago and tell you the date
that it happened as well. She always loved people and would be in her glory
when friends or family were over for a visit. She was extremely responsible,
competent, had a strong work ethic and frugal. As many of the generation who
have lived through a depression are; she would fix rather than buy new and
was acutely aware of the value of a dollar. Aunt Martha was an awesome cook
whose ingredient of love was the main and irreplaceable component of her
Italian specialties. Her Italian Christmas cookies, sauce, meatballs and
sausage will always hold a special place in her family’s heart. She was very
proud of her Italian heritage and was always asking “did you eat enough?”
When asked to what she attributed her long life to she would tell you her
Scotch Old Fashioned must have had something to do with it. This love of
Scotch can perhaps be attributed to when her brother was shipped overseas
during WWII. Martha and her sister in law went to California to see him off
to war in the Pacific, and they finished a bottle of Scotch at his send-off
celebration.
Martha was the loving aunt of Mary Sepede of Wayne, Joseph (Kathleen) Sepede
of Lincoln Park, Jane Sepede (Dean Arnold) of Seattle, Washington, and Linda
Smith of California; dearly loved great-aunt of Michael (Kimberly) Sepede
and John (Amy Gimbel) Sepede; and cherished great-great-aunt of Sean Sepede.
In Loving Memory of Christian (September 6, 2017 - April 1, 2018) from Misti
Christian was our sweet, special, beautiful little boy kitty. He was taken from us only a few days before turning seven months old. He was way to young and we didn't get enough time with him. He loved sleeping in his box or on his scratcher a.k.a his "throne", playing with his yarn toy, and riding the broom when I swept.
I wish I could have gotten the help he needed so he didn't have to die a needless death.
Christian, you are missed so badly. You will always be loved so very much by me and daddy, and all your kitty family. I hope that we can be with you again someday. You will never be forgotten and will always be our special baby.
Goodbye to Maxx (March 2018)
Maxx has been apart of our family for many years and he will be so
missed. Maxx a small Chihuahua with a big personality and a big ❤.
Maxx the brave soul will be missed a great deal. My ❤ has gone home to
rest, no more pain. I ❤ you so much and pray that you are resting in piece.
Romeo - February 2018
We recently lost our very sweet, cuddly Romeo. On February 23 this handsome boy, also known as "Sweater" because he was so cuddly and wanted to be as close to you as he could, had an unexpected end to his life. He was such a good boy and loved Bob so much! Romeo will be missed but never forgotten! You have left a permanent footprint on our hearts! From Mary Ann and Bob Bonomo and Family

Oreo - January 2017
Oreo
I'm so thankful that I found God's Creatures Ministry website. My dearest Oreo passed away on December 22nd. I didn't know how I was going to pay for the rest of his costs and I needed to take his ashes home. I immediately was looking for financial assistant. Sadly, no one got back to me then I received a message from Jan in my inbox. I got an email from the vet too, they sent in $50 to help me. I'm so thankful for this organization. The people who run it are so compassionate. I only wish they could have met Oreo.

In Memory of Buffy (August 2001 - February 18, 2015) By Jan Fredericks
Buffy was given to me when she was almost a year old. She brought me a
lot of joy over the years. She was blessed to have neighbors in NJ who also
loved her and would let her out as needed. Unfortunately, in her elder
years, she stopped eating and her body began to shut down.
She enjoyed smelling the fresh air, walking in the neighborhood, meeting
people and cats.
See Butch the cat who was one of Buffy's
buddies.

The Joy of Ami Drew's Life - Denim and Bella
Amilynn (Ami) Drew, my co-worker/friend, passed away expectantly after beginning chemotherapy on May 14, 2013. She had just turned 61, March 24th. The joy of her life were her two dogs, Denim and Bella. Her face would light up talking about them. She is missed by them and by many of us.

In Memory of Gunther by Paul Guay
Thanks for your kind words. I have never grieved for an animal as I have for my Gunther, and I've grieved and still grieve for many going back over a lifetime. Nor have I grieved like this for any human being, which frightens me, because I have lost most of my family and a couple of close friends. I wish I were with all of them, but Gunther was--well, the Cat's Meow--and, as a friend of mine said who took the attached picture, "angelic". He was a gift to me from my dying younger brother and always had something about him more honest and direct than I've ever met in another living creature, and joyous. A joy to have had, so intense my world now seems utterly empty.
To paraphrase Augustine about all God's creatures: "My question was the attention I gave him, and his response was his beauty." A beauty only God could have uniquely created. A devilishly innocent lamb I guess I will have to wait to behold again when the Lamb of God makes all things new.
I live in Maine. I look forward to learning more about your Ministry and Catholic Concern for Animals.
In Memory of Butch by Jan Fredericks
Butch the cat and Buffy the dog
Butch showed up on my porch in PA somewhere around 2000 with very bad ear mites. In March 2009 his health deteriorated drastically from FIV with a poor prognosis. He was sadly euthanized on March 25, 2009.
He had the most expressive eyes. My Mom who passed away on February 21, 2009 enjoyed his presence. I believe he was the first to become friends with Buffy, my dog (also from Pennsylvania).
"Thank you Lord for putting Butch in my life."
If It Should Be
Anonymous
If it be I grow frail and weak,
And pain should wake me from my sleep.
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.
You will be sad, I understand,
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We've had so many happy years,
What is to come will hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so,
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me where my needs they'll tend,
Only stay with me until the end,
And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you too will see
It was a kindness you did to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Do not grieve that it should be you
Who has to decide this thing to do.
We've been so close, [we] all these years.
Don't let your heart hold bitter tears.
In Memorium of Yoko - aged 14-1/2
You were the most sweet and gentle companion and we were lucky to share our lives and home with you. We will always remember and love you.

In Memory of Margaret Levy by Cathy Fredericks
We were honored to have known you and your kindness.
God's Creatures Ministry is committed to spreading God's compassion to all He
has made based on The Scriptures. Although we are a Christian Ministry, we
encourage all to have their own animal welfare committee in their community. We
extend our resources to those who would like to learn more or begin their own
God's Creatures Ministry as an extension of us. God created us to have a
vegetarian diet and commissioned us to protect His animals. Instead, we have
exploited them for our entertainment, fashion, appetite and useless, torturous
research. These creatures have the right to live as they were created to live.
Because we live IN this world, but are not OF this world, we strive to bring
God's mercy and justice to all. We live in God's Kingdom now where Jesus, The
Sacrificial Lamb, The Prince of Peace, The Lion of Judah reigns. We look forward
to that day when all of creation will be 'set free from slavery to corruption
and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God' (Romans 8:21) where a
little child will lead and guide God's creatures (see Isaiah 11:5-9).
